Gartner published the 2011 Magic Quadrant for x86 Server Virtualization Infrastructure, in which Microsoft is listed among the leaders, along with Citrix and VMware.
This outcome is interesting for a number of reasons, such as increased competition, more choice for customers, and growth in virtualization generally. But it also signals a shift in the conversation from a discussion of underlying virtualization architectures, to that of how to build for the future. Which of the leading virtualization vendors can best help customers understand, build, and manage private clouds?
