Wall-street is seeing a comeback in terms of lending to small businesses. The reason for this is 12 investment firms are arranging $1.38 billion of initial stock offerings, in-order, to pump in cash to nation’s biggest job creators.
Business development corporations (BDCs) are formed by leading corporations that typically lend to small businesses having annual revenue less than $500 million. This is in accordance to filings with US Securities & Exchange commission. The ongoing BDCs wave is the greatest in at-least seven years now.
Trillions of dollars are being flooded into the financial system by the Federal Reserve in the span of last three years. But, obtaining credit still remains a challenge for borrowers who do not have a direct access to capital markets. In an opinion issued this morning, the Washington Supreme Court ruled that the states medical marijuana law does not prohibit an employer from discharging an employee for medical marijuana use, nor does the states 1998 law provide a civil remedy against the employer. The court also concluded that the state law also does not proclaim a sufficient public policy to give rise to a tort action for wrongful termination for authorized use of medical marijuana.
Eight of nine justices signed the majority opinion in Roe v. Teletech Customer Care Management Co., rejecting an appeal by an employee who was terminated after she tested positive for use of the drug, which she had obtained and was using under the states 1998 law. Search giants Google, Bing and Yahoo announced Wednesday a new joint initiative schema.org to create and support a common vocabulary for structured data on web pages. The new site will be a valuable resource for site owners and developers looking to learn more about structured data and improve how their sites appear in major search engines. Schema.org will assist webmasters who are looking to add markup to their pages.
For years search engines have been working separately to support structured markup. Google introduced rich snippets to its search in 2009 to help people find better summaries of reviews and people, and since that time expanded to new kinds of rich snippets.
Schema.org will include all existing types of rich snippets together with schemas for 100 new categories including movies, music, organizations, TV shows, products, places that webmaster can use to markup their pages and improve the way they appear in search results.
